Nine great choirs...one unforgettable night!
The 2013 edition of Calgary Sings! featured a rich assortment of adult choirs from Calgary and area, each unique and special, all were eager to share their love of singing! The event, presented by the Adult Recreational Choir Society of Calgary (ARCS) and hosted by the Heebee-jeebees, culminated in a breathtaking Mass Choir performance of more than 400 voices.
Calgary Sings! is a celebration of choral music in our community. Net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Calgary Health Trust in support of Music Therapy for residents of Carewest Continuing Care Centres in Calgary. ARCS has provided more than $50,000 of funding to this worthwhile cause since 2005 in large part through the success of Calgary Sings!
The Calgary Boys' Choir 40th Anniversary "Celebration of Male Song" & "Grand Celebration Gala"

Calgary Men's Chorus performed in The Calgary Boys’ Choir 40th Anniversary Festival. The "Celebration of Male Song" and "Grand Celebration Gala" engaged city-wide audiences with choral concerts and solo recitals, all hosted by and showcasing The Calgary Boys’ Choir. Local and visiting choirs/artists were featured as well, with a guest conductor, massed ensemble events and new works commissioned especially for the occasion.

Broadway Rocks! with the Calgary Philarmonic Orchestra
New York Pops’ Steven Reineke led the Orchestra and Broadway Stars in this high-energy revue of the hit shows of the stage. Fans heard music from Rent, Mamma Mia, Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King and much, much more.

Harmony for Hope
In Support of Child Find Alberta! Celebrating Universal Children's Day. Together we can achieve our vision of 'Every Child Safe from Harm'. This concert showcased the outstanding talent of five local choirs: Calgary Men's Chorus, Cum Vino Cantus, Cantaré Children's Choir, Mount Royal Youth Choir and Il Sono. The concert took place at the Boyce Theatre, on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.

This year's spring concert had Calgary Men's Chorus explore through song the themes of Icarus. Icarus is a cautionary tale of over ambition, but it is also a story about longing to escape and finding freedom elsewhere.

Longtime supporter and friend of the Calgary Men's Chorus Jennifer Georgeadis, has created many of the unique paintings that have adorned our concert posters and programs, adding to the unique look of the Calgary Men's Chorus concerts. Her most recent work Icarus, featured on our June 9th concert posters and programs, has added to our continued collaboration across artistic disciplines. This year's winter concert honoured World AIDS Day and all those who have been affected by HIV and AIDS. Mad World featured songs surrounding themes related to HIV and AIDS. $5,000 was raised for AIDS Calgary.

We delivered a very eclectic set of 8 pieces at Unison 2010 and the audience loved us. We definitely held our own amidst many other talented GLBTT choirs from across Canada. The Calgary Men's Chorus partnered with the Savridi Singers to present this benefit concert at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. We raised just over $45,000.00 for the Calgary Breast Health Program.

Calgary Sings!

The Calgary Men's Chorus was part of Calgary Sings!, a bi-annual celebration of choral music for adult choirs hosted and produced by the Adult Recreational Choir Society of Calgary (ARCS). Proceeds from this bi-annual event support the Music Therapy Program at Carewest. This year's event featured guest hosts, The Heebee-jeebees, and nine choirs: Up2Something, Calgary Men's Chorus, Sweet Adeline's Chinook Winds, Irish Cultural Society Choir, Petro-Canada Choir, Revv52, Savridi Singers, She's Up2Something, and Stampede City Chorus.

The Calgary Men's Chorus performed as a guest of the Calgary Renaissance Singers & Players, along with guests Airdrie Community Choir and EnChor Chamber Choir. This extraordinary event featured four choirs coming together along with an impressive ensemble of instrumentalists for the performance of two of Giovanni Gabrieli's poly-choral works, Omnes Gentes and Buccinate. These pieces, written for four choirs, organ and various instruments, are rarely performed and the Calgary Men's Chorus was very excited to be a part of this unique concert.

The Calgary Men's Chorus collaborated with film director, actor and Professor Seth Michael Donsky (from New York City) to present an original choral concert inspired by Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" - a timeless story with an important message that still applies today.
