In addition to being an essential part of the Calgary Men's Chorus, Jim Picken is an Associate Director of Music Ministry at Knox Presbyterian Church, an organ recitalist with several recordings to his credit, a very talented accompanist and a well-respected piano teacher. His musical training began in Calgary and continued on Vancouver Island where he earned a
Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Victoria (1975). He then moved to the United Kingdom where he earned a
Bachelor of Arts and a
Master of Arts in Theology at Oxford University (1980, 1994), and later he received performance diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto and the Western Board of Music. In September 2008, Jim began working on his
