Nick Turnbull
Nick is a young prolific composer who lives in Calgary, Alberta. He started writing music at age 12 and has been writing music professionally since age 16. He has written music for various cinematic documentaries, television shows, videogames, live performances and special events. Nick's music has been performed throughout Canada, the United States, Colombia, Brazil, China, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Italy.
Nick is a proud member of the world renowned Calgary Stampede Showband where he plays trombone and euphonium. He is also a member of the Calgary Stampede Showband Chamber Choir; in 2009 they premiered his first SATB* choral piece "One Voice" at the Alberta Choral Federation's Choralfest. Aside from actively composing, Nick is also the musical director of the Good Shepherd Church Choir in Calgary as well as an active clinician and guest speaker at schools throughout Alberta.
Nick is currently working on a Bachelor of Music degree in composition at the University of Calgary. In addition to music, Nick enjoys travelling and performing arts such as operas, musicals and theatre. Nick is also very passionate about aviation and flying. In addition, he enjoys being outdoors with friends and family.
